I AM ME!
Hey!
I'm Aiden from Cochrane, Ontario. Right now, I'm a 21 year old trans man, who's been on HRT since October 2017, and as of January 2019, I have officially had top surgery. Everybody's journey is different, and I'll always stand by my trans brothers and sisters in becoming exactly who they were always meant to be. Not everybody opts for surgeries. Or even hormones. For me, they were both necessary and I can honestly say I've never been happier. Little bit about me, I've always been a bookworm. Loved to read since I learned at age 3. I'm also a cat person, and have rescued 3 fur babies and one scale baby. These 4 pets are my saviours. I'd never have gotten far enough to truly feel happy without them. Right now, I'm working on my health, mental, physical and emotional so I am sort of in my cocoon stage. Evolving and finding the real me underneath years of bad habits, and mindsets. To anybody reading this, who either know they are trans (or non-binary) or to my friends simply questioning and pushing the boundaries of their current gender expression, there is no one way to be trans or cis. You find the things that make you happy, and do your best to not let old stereotypes get you down or make you feel like you aren't a real man or woman or whatever you may be. Just be you. Don't be afraid to mislabel, we are all constantly changing and it's okay if one day you think you might be one thing and the next another. To any supporters or family/friends to a trans person, Thank you for taking the time to research the topic. It's a hard thing all round, but as long as you actively are showing an effort to respect and love those around you for who they tell you they are. Slip ups and a mistake here and there are okay. Just do us a favour and don't do it intentionally 🙂
